An Apopka, FL native, Dr. David Dada attended high school at Forest Lake Academy. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Gainesville’s University of Florida, and a Bachelor’s of Vision Science and Doctorate of Optometry at NOVA Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale.

Dr. Dada's comprehensive professional training have taken him to various state of the art clinics, such as the VA Clinic, specialty OMD clinics, and various OD-OMD practices. These experiences have shaped him into an exceptionally skilled optometrist.

His passion for outreach have led him to participate in different mission trips, including the National Optometric Student Association, and One Sight, through which he served communities in Jamaica and Gambia. He loves traveling, basketball, and participating in his local church.

Dr. Nishan Pressley is a shining example in the world of eye care. Originally hailing from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, she graduated with magna cum laude honors from The Norfolk State University, setting the stage for a remarkable career that continues to redefine optometry.
 
Dr. Pressley obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University, where she achieved a remarkable milestone as the first African-American to graduate from the Accelerated Scholars Optometry program, completing her doctorate degree in just three years.
 
Dr. Pressley's patient-centric approach is the cornerstone of her practice. She puts her patients first, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care and personalized attention. Her dedication to patient well-being is reflected in her comprehensive understanding of primary eye care and ocular disease management — including but not limited to glaucoma management, diabetic eye exams, emergency eye care, and contact lens fittings.  Dr. Pressley's commitment to excellence in these domains ensures that her patients receive the most thorough and compassionate care, addressing their unique needs with precision and empathy.
 
Beyond her groundbreaking educational & professional achievements, Dr. Pressley is a dynamic influencer in the realm of eye care, captivating and educating over 180,000 social media followers across various platforms under her moniker, @askdrnish. Outside of her thriving professional life, Dr. Pressley finds balance in her personal life, cherishing moments with her husband and relishing quality time spent together. 

Dr. Wateen Alami is a passionate optometrist excited to be joining Essential Eyecare and Optical. She brings a strong foundation in clinical care and a deep commitment to helping patients see their best.
 
Dr. Alami earned her Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry degree at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry. While at Nova, she also earned a second Bachelor’s degree in Vision Science and discovered her passion for pediatric optometry, vision therapy, and caring for individuals with developmental disabilities and special needs. Her dedication and excellence in clinical care were recognized with the CooperVision Excellence in Myopia Management Award and the OEP Clinical Curriculum Award.
 
Following optometry school, Dr. Alami pursued a residency in Pediatric Optometry and Binocular Vision at the Illinois College of Optometry. During her residency, she gained extensive experience managing pediatric ocular disease, binocular vision disorders, and myopia progression. She also worked with pediatric patients requiring low vision care, treated ocular emergencies in an urgent care setting, and specialized in fitting contact lenses for all ages and needs. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Alami presented clinical cases at several conferences.
 
Beyond the clinic, Dr. Alami has a strong commitment to community outreach. She has volunteered her time providing vision screenings for school-aged children, athletes at sports vision events, and participants in the Special Olympics.
 
What truly drives Dr. Alami is building meaningful relationships with her patients and families. She believes in taking the time to educate each person about their eye health and working together to create customized treatment plans that fit their lifestyle and goals.
 
In her free time, Dr. Alami enjoys reading, spending time with her family, exploring the outdoors, traveling, and relaxing at the beach whenever she can.
